Welcome to 4tunate!

Welcome to 4tunate! So glad you stopped by. We hope you pop a squat and stay a while…

On February 2, 2007 I became “Quatro Mama”, a mother to quadruplet boys: Henry, Brooks, Clark, and Isaac. Originally, this blog started as a way to keep family and friends on board with updates and prayer requests during our extreme high-risk pregnancy. Since then, it has “multiplied” into a collection of our adventures, sharing my love for photography, reflections of my faith, rewinds from our infertility journey, reviews of things we love, and our NICU Survival Kit project, among other ramblings.

We thank God for His immeasurable blessings and hope that our blog can be a source of encouragement to your faith as well!

I love hearing from “the other side of my computer screen”, so get in touch with me by leaving a comment, emailing me quatro_mama{at}yahoo{dot}com, or by following me on twitter @quatromama.

Thank you for allowing us to share this journey with you!

Hello, your kids are beautiful.
I am interested in buying the choo choo wagon with trailers if you still have it and they are no longer using it.
I run a daycare out of my home in San Diego and the kids would love to use it. =)
Please let me know.

Thanks for your time, Tammy

I love checking in on your crew. Those boys are growing and becoming handsome little men.

I don't know how much you keep up on new quad parents but I thought you'd be interested. Ben and Kari Hickey gave birth to their quads in Sept and just last week brought them home, just in time for halloween. You can check them out at http://benandkarisjourneytoparenthood.blogspot.com/

Enjoy!

I make the same carrot cake but I use baby food carrots. So much easier and the taste is the same.

Hello! I learned about your blog through a friend. I also have quadruplets — three boys and a girl born August 17, 2005. It is so nice to see other people living a "quadrupally" nice life!

Thanks for sharig your story..I live in the U.K and came across your site a few weeks ago, whilst searching for stories on quads…actually building up my faith..I am trusting God to answer my prayers re: having kids, despite medical complications (me & husband).

I am thinking of starting an e-journal as well, to encourage myself and others in this walk of faith.

God bless you Sis for sharing your story, indeed God is a great God, despite medical comlications!

Jen,

Just saw your story in the IndyStar. I am in your area, and would LOVE to help. I have a son who is in Confirmation who could also help (he needs service hours — it's a win-win).

Contact me when you get a chance:

Keep up the great work!

Hi Jen

I am really happy for you all, about the newspaper article – I hope it raises more awareness and support for the kits.

Have you thought about including a link on your site for anyone who would like to 'send a kit to a family' – I'm sure you could easily set-up payment via paypal. I trust God to enlarge your coast!

PS – I'd like to send a kit to a family.

God bless you from:

I saw a blog about your NICU Kits on Multiples and More and love the idea! I wish we had been receivers of these kits during our NICU stay! Our girls are now about 5 and a half months old but just 3 months old adjusted so we are pretty busy but I'd love to be able to offer assistance in some way eventually.

Until then I did have one suggestion…for Christmas my mom had got me these beautiful necklaces called, Preemie Purple Hearts. She got me one for each of the girls, to be worn by me on a single chain until they are old enough to have them themselves. The hearts come with a story of how they were started and they have such a good story. This might be something to look into adding to the kits. The website for them that is on the cards that come with them is http://preemiehearts.com/index.html

Just a thought! Good luck on such a great cause!

I have been following your blog for a while now, but never commented before. First, thank you for such a fun, open, and honest blog. I feel like you are family friends. I know your husband is starting his own business, but I wanted to let you know that Trends International (www.trendsinternational.com) is hiring. Not sure if this would be a good fit or not, but I wanted to let you know.

Next time someone stops you to take pics of the boys – and says "what, there are 4 of them?" – reply – "there's only 1…what do you mean? have you had your eyes checked lately?" ha! but I must admit, it was a pretty exciting event for all who knew you – and they are awfully adorable to make you want to just keep looking at them – afterall – I do check this silly blog all the time just to get a glimpse at those cute little peapickers!! :) (no not a silly blog – but you know what I mean) :) Keep the funnies coming – - love ya!

I remember reading your blog and seeing personalized Mickey Mouse shirts you had for the boys. I can’t seem to locate that part of the blog and to where they came from. Can you let me know where shirts like those can be bought or made?

We ran into you a couple of years ago at the John Deere exhibit at the State Fair. I have thought of you often and am glad to see that your family is doing so well. You have many blessings (4+++) and are a inspiration to those that have faced similar challenges in starting their families.

I am inspired and now am making 60 nicu kits for us here in utah. I wanted to share the lyrics to a song I found. Its by David Osmond and its called the Lonliest Walk:
She pushes L on that old elevator door
Her heart is broken, arms are bare
The doors are closing and she’s staring at the floor
There’s still a piece of her up there
It seems like yesterday she saw him on the screen
Painted a room and picked out names
But now she has to leave him under big machines
To keep alive his tiny frame
She’s on the way to her car, but its never felt this far

With each step she takes there’s another to follow
And one more ache, one more tear to swallow
She’s gotta keep moving
Forget about the bruising inside
Through the loneliest walk of her life

He pushes up the board they’ve tied onto his shoulders
He bears, with dignity, disgrace
He hears the jeering and the wind is getting colder
Tastes the blood upon his face

His body bruised and back still open from the scourges
The consequence of wicked men
He knows no man on earth has ever deserved this
But still he bears it all for them
And He keeps moving up the hill to do his fathers will

Withe each step he takes theres another to follow
and one more ache, one more tear to swallow
we all stand by and watch as the price is paid
Through the loneliest walks of his life
so we don’t feel alone in the night
we can have his hand holding the light
through the lowliest walks of our lives
Keep pushing through this lonely walk youre going through
Cause someones walked this way before

Mom & Dad: Your sons are so much fun to watch. Thanks for letting me take their picture in the Sheraton Resort lobby. I did get three together and the fourth separate. As I mentioned my wife and I have 4 sons, spread out over a dozen years though. We also have six grandsons and they are a hoot.
Take care and enjoy those little boys. They do grow up fast.

I am a Nana to quadruplets. Is there a website for Grandmas of Multiples?

It would be great to get ideas and share tips for us grandmothers of multiples.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi,
I visited your blog for the first time today. It was recommended to me by one of my fellow coworkers, Marci Martin. She thought that I would enjoy reading through your journey as I am also pregnant with multiples. My husband and I have struggled with infertility after having my son Malcolm who is now three. Within a 6 month period I endured 2 miscarriages. So, my husband and I decided to go to a fertility specialist to figure out why I was getting pregnant but was unable to sustain the pregnancy. The Dr. determined that my follicles were not becoming mature, so I took fertility meds for 10 days in February 2011(ovulation induction) and now am pregnant with twins set to deliver in October! A boy and a girl. We are so excited to finally have a testimony after many unfortunate tests. I look forward to continuing to visit your site :-)

I just found out I’m having quads! We went into the ER lastnight because of some mysterious spotting during what was supposed to be a one-baby pregnancy (spotting was nothing, fortunately). Turns out we were carrying 4! The whole ER staff was buzzing when we left. I’m trying to get in touch with other quad families to get some support and help during this pregnancy. We need all the moral support we can get here!
