We Interrupt Your Thanksgiving Preparations for This Important Announcement

I’m kicking myself right now.

I think I’m leaving a bruise.

I made a terrible mistake!

I left out an important ingredient in the Carrot Cake Recipe

BAKING SODA

You know the stuff that looks like this…

baking-soda

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s important.

You need 2 teaspoons.

I just fixed the original recipe post.

I PROMISE I double triple checked the recipe to what I posted, but somehow I missed it!

I feel like baking you all a cake and hand-delivering it to your sweet homes to make up for it…

If I post Thanksgiving pictures with the boys could that be a truce??????

Back to Kicking Myself.

OUCH! That’s going to leave a mark!

And Now Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Thanksgiving Programming.

It's okay. It won't affect the taste – it will affect the texture. Making it a heavier cake rather than a lighter one.

I have been a reader of your blog for a long time, but I guess more of a 'lurker', as I've only ever commented maybe once before. However, this was too funny not to comment. I made your carrot cake recipe yesterday, and you'll be happy to know that it turned out delicious without the baking soda 🙂 However, my husband and I decided that it was a little more like a dense pumpkin bar, and less like a 'cake', and the missing baking soda would be the reason why. You have simply created a great new pumpkin bar recipe 🙂

I was wondering what I did wrong! I just threw it out…bummer.

JUST KIDDING!!! Happy Thanksgiving! I enjoy watching your boys and noticing how similar our days look. (I don't have quads or anything…just three boys 3 and under.) Ok…back to cooking!
