No. No! No?

The boys are quite fond of using the word, "No".  It’s verbalized approximately 1,047 times a day in our home in a variety of contexts.

"NO! NO!" – Exclamation; Example: Telling a brother he cannot throw food on the floor. (They LOVE telling each other "No!")

"No. No." – Statement; Example: Acknowledging an understanding that they cannot touch the buttons on the television.

"No, No?" – Inquiry; Example: I still can’t stand on the couch?

They even use a finger shake or a clap to emphasize their point!  (Clueless on where they could come up with such dramatics.) Santa might have to change his Ho! Ho! Ho! to a No! No! No! this Christmas.

Here’s a short clip as an illustration:

Here’s a few more words that they’ve added to their vocabulary since I last posted a running list

light, mamaw, papaw, Kristy, dog, duck, bye, juice, cookie, cracker, pumpkin, choo-choo, animal sounds (cat, dog, duck, rabbit, sheep, owl, cow, horse, giraffe, lion), baby, nose, eye, belly, tickle-tickle, shoes, all done, all gone, where’d he go?, boo, ’tis it?, there’d is, tick-tock, up, on, off, Go Colts!, hello, Bible, two, three, yes

I’m sure I’m forgetting a few…Occasionally, I’ll get them to attempt their brother’s names.

They’re also learning to repeat things, so I have a feeling that their vocabulary is getting ready to take off.

I’m just looking forward to the day when "Engh! Engh! Enngh!" is replaced with, "Mama, I need some assistance; Could you please help me with this when you have a moment?"
